EOTD: The Violet Hour

Yes, I'm back. Also, my promise for daily posts is coming back as well.(:
So yes, for my first EOTD I just used the name of a song for the title. Haha, my creative juices couldn't come up with anything better. Now, in terms in the other EOTD's will have song names.... we'll just have to see.
For this whole week I've been trying to use more of my makeup in order to use it all up and what not. I feel like I have too much again. -.-" Regardless, when I was in a CCO a few months ago, I say a MAC fluidline from the MAC Fall Colour Collection. It was $10.50 and at that time I didn't have an eyeliner. So I picked it up (and paid for it and the tax of course). I've been using it ever since. Thus, this is the look that I usually wear it in. It's a great product that deserves a review from me sooner or later. (:

It's the look I usually wear because it's so quick and easy. I used MAC's painterly Paintpot as a base and the MAC Ash Violet Fluidline. For my face I mixed my Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation with my moisturizer. I lightly used NYC's Sunny Bronzer as well and I used ELF's eyebrow kit in medium for my, well, eyebrows. Almay Get Up and Grow Mascara was used but I didn't use concealer. Hmm... and that's all I believe. Thanks for reading! I promise more interesting EOTD's soon (after all I have two more set up, just need to write what I used haha).

From  the person who needs to tweeze her eyebrows now and needs to write less lengthy EOTD's,

Lipstick Collection 2012 W/ Swatches

I actually don't have that many lipsticks and that's because I sort of feel like when I wear a lipstick, I don't know what kind of blush or eye look I can wear with it. But since I've been trying to be adventurous with my eyeshadows lately, I'm sort of getting the hang of of what lipsticks go with what look. Yay! ^^
Anywhoooooo, my lipstick collection mainly contains neutrals and I have no reds at all. I find them a bit daunting to wear and I find you need a lot of confidence to wear it in a high school.
I have 5 lipsticks and 1 random lipgloss that my friend had given me as part as a Christmas present a while back. Aside from this, the only other lippies I have in my collection are 2 lipliners. I'm sort of glad that my collection is as small as it is because I used to have around 15 lipsticks back in the day. o.o

From Left to Right (For All 4 Pictures): Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in 270 Rush, Revlon Lip Butter in 090 Sweet Tart, Clinique Rose Taffy, NYX Round Lipstick in Frappucino, NYX Round Lipstick in Nymphus, and JLB Cosmetics Lip Gloss in 04.

Nail Polish Collection 2012

I thought it would be a neat idea to do an overview of my nail polish collection, just a quick one(:. Now I know I don't have that much nail polish... but you should have seen me before. I used to have 30 something nail polishes but after much reflection (this was due to the fact that I had no more money to spend haha) I realized that I hardly finished up my nail polish. So this year I'm focusing on using the colors I have and only buy one nail polish per collection. For example a is Orly, China Glaze, or Essie come out with a spring collection I would have to choose only one brand and one nail polish from that collection. Wish me luck, because I'll really need it -___-. So I have 14 nail polishes and 2 top coats. I usually use a base coat but as mentioned in my previous post, I wasn't able to buy one.
So, enough rambling! Onto the collection!
From Left to Right: Orly Moonlit Madness, Orly Snowcone, Orly Rage, Revlon Facets of Fuchsia (this is now re-released and renamed as Scandalous), Sephora by OPI Leotard- Optional, and Sally Hansen X-treme Wear in Disco Ball.
From Left to Right: China Glaze Liquid Leather, China Glaze Evening Seduction, China Glaze Ravishing Dahling, China Glaze Mrs. Claus (from a Holiday Collection in 2010), and two Gap polishes that have no name or number.
From Left to Right: Out the Door Top Coat for Nails, G.N.P. 90 Second Polish Dryer, Skin Food Nail Vita #V1403, and Finger Paints Twist (this is in a collection that is currently available).

So these are all the nail polishes I own and I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any questions, comments, or requests leave in the comment section below ^^. I'm actually on planning on having a little NOTD posts with these polishes individually so you can see how they are swatched.

NOTD #1: Finger Paints - Twisted (Pic Heavy)

Flakies usually remind me of fish food. Is that just me? o_o But even so that hasn't stopped me from buying this nail polish from FingerPaints Special Effects Collection they released this month! I actually got this back in late December when I went to Sally's Beauty Supply for a top coat and a base coat. The got the Out the Door Top Coat and it hasn't disappointed me so far, anyways back to the topic--- because of my ban on nail polishes that I've had since last summer, I decided to not get a base coat and get the Finger Paints nail polish instead.
Now, when you see this collection in the store, I highly HIGLY suggest looking up pictures first because in the bottle, you can't really tell what the outcome of the polish will be. The following picture is the bottle with flash. With in store lighting, it doesn't look that different.
Now, onto what it looks like on your nails. Oh, and I'm sorry that my nails don't look that well manicured but I've had this polish on for a whole week so it looks a bit.... unappetizing? Aha, if that makes sense. So I have this color on China Glaze's Liquid Leather which is a black, of course it's also possible to put this on any other colors besides black (and I will be experimenting with that and showing you soon). I have 2 coats of Twisted and 2 coats of Liquid Leather. You can easily pass with one coat of Twisted but since I was planning on wearing this for New Years, I wanted the colors in the flakies to pop out more.

And thank you for welcoming me into the blogging world. (: I do realize that blogging takes time but I hope to make friends here and try to devote myself to the blog. I'm thinking of pre-writing posts actually because this semester instead of taking one AP class I'm taking two and one of them is after school as well as before... But I'm actually horrible at pre-writing posts because I always want to post it right after I write it *coughLIKETHISONERIGHTNOWcough*

Hard Candy Tinted Moisturizer

Okay, okay. I understand that there are a zillion posts of a review of this product but I just couldn't help myself. I need to tell the internet about this product because I believe that the people who like it haven't quite realized this yet.
As I was saying, the shade selection is pretty small so women of color may not be able to find their shade. Luckily, I had gotten the color "Tan" which was a perfect match for me. Now, it gave pretty good coverage and so I was pretty happy with the results. UNTIL, a week later when I had realized that the product smudged horribly onto clothes. My PE shirt for school was white, and it turned into the color of the tinted moisturizer when I changed in and out of it.

SO, to get to the nitty gritty:

Pros:
- Good coverage for a tinted moisturizer.
- Feels lightweight and blends easily into the skin.
- Does not feel drying at all.
- Cheap. ($8)

Cons:
- There's not much of a shade selection and people may find it hard to match their undertones.
- Smears onto clothes.
